Don't they teach this in school anymore?!

Lose vs. Loose

"I would like to lose five pounds."
"After losing five pounds, my jeans are loose."
"I have a lot of loose change in my couch cushions."
"I hope I don't lose my car keys again."
"What a loser!"

I know it doesn't make any sense, but that's just the way it is.
